It was like starting to breathe again after a long period of breathlessness. For the first time, no Covid hospitalized patients are registered in the emergency room in Sassari.

In recent days, the worrying numbers risked causing an already alarming situation to explode. In some days, over 30 Covid patients were registered in addition to other users suffering from various pathologies. On the other hand, currently positive patients, after the period of isolation, have been discharged or transferred to other wards. The containers that housed the coronavirus cases that kept two doctors and health personnel busy, now transferred to other areas where service units are required, have been freed.

The situation could return to normal, even if the danger of clogging the emergency room is always around the corner. Some departments remain to be re-established, such as the Geriatrics, transformed into a Covid ward for assistance needs and, therefore, identified by the Aou as one of the first problems to be solved. The return to normal is also expected for the Pneumatology department.
