The Pol-Giust prison police union threatens peaceful protests at the Bancali prison in Sassari.

In the structure, reports the national secretary Roberto Melis, there is a lack of "an actual commander and director, the staff is demotivated, several electric gates are out of order, there are malfunctioning video surveillance monitors". And again, says Melis, «there are no computers in the various police stations, there are dilapidated chairs for the prison police departments and offices. Among the serious critical points, moreover, the "absence of fire extinguishers and anti-smoke masks, shortage and poor management of personnel, sometimes denied subjective rights".

"Many have come to visit the Bancali prison, all the figures know the reality of a penitentiary with very serious conditions, but it seems that no authority can do anything to remedy at least some of these problems", maintains the secretary. «They tell us that for some time in a detention section following a fire, fire extinguishers and anti-smoke masks have been used, obviously these devices were withdrawn after use and it seems they were never repositioned in their suitable housing - he continues - If in the short term we will not see an interest with consequent resolution of at least some of the critical issues exposed, we will implement peaceful protests that can give even greater resonance and voice to the words of the prison police staff of the Sassari Bancali Institute ", he concludes.
