Written against detention under the 41 bis regime on the bell tower of the church of Santa Maria di Betlem in Sassari . They have recently appeared at the top of the building, which has recently undergone a major renovation.

The words contesting the harsh prison term, defined as "torture", were written on the roof of the tower together with the anarchist symbol and also address "Domenico" whose freedom is being requested.

The reference could be that of Domenico Porcelli, detained in Bancali for a few months, and on hunger strike since February 28 of this year. The 27-year-old was sentenced in 2022 to 26 and a half years in prison by the Matera court for criminal association of the mafia type.

The man saw the measure of the hard prison renewed at the end of January of this year, thus deciding to undertake the protest, deeming the treatment unfair.

Meanwhile, Porcelli's lawyers, Maria Teresa Pintus and Livia Lauria , have presented a complaint to the Surveillance Court of Rome asking that the 41 bis decree be annulled.

It is not the first time in Sassari that writings against the prison regime have appeared: in recent months they stood out on the buildings of the former police headquarters to express solidarity with Alfredo Cospito.

Among other things, the anarchist has recently returned to the Bacchiddu prison after months of detention in Milan for health reasons due to the prolonged hunger strike.
