Sassari, man accused of abusing his minor daughter: 8-year prison sentence requested

An eight-year prison sentence has been requested for a man accused of sexually assaulting his minor daughter. Today in the Sassari courthouse, during a summary hearing, prosecutor Giovanni Porcheddu requested the sentence for the man who, according to the charges, once made an intimate approach to the girl, who was under 14 at the time.

After receiving her daughter's confided in her about what had happened, the mother filed a complaint last year, triggering the investigation and the ongoing proceedings before preliminary hearing judge Sergio De Luca.

The man was also interviewed at today's hearing, where he provided spontaneous statements. The judge adjourned the case until June for a decision. The defendant is represented by lawyers Marco Palmieri and Gianfranco Oppes, while the civil party is represented by lawyers Camilla Pirino and Nicola Andrea Oggiano.
