The road prevention campaign of the local police of Sassari called "transparency operation" resumes . From tomorrow and until 31 March the checks will focus on the Sassari roads which recorded the highest number of accidents in 2022. In the year that has just ended, they have in fact increased to 1,249 compared to 1,015 in 2021.

These are the streets involved: Via Predda Niedda, via Buddi Buddi, via Budapest, viale Porto Torres, via Don Sturzo, via Prati. And again: in Ottava, on the ex 131, ss 200 (Sassari-Sorso), via Domenico Millelire, via De Martini, SP 18 Bancali, Palmadula – SP 4 SP 18, SP 42 Campanedda.

Compliance with the speed limits, the psycho-physical state of the drivers, the correct use of the restraint systems and the use of the mobile phone will be monitored. The aim is to make users aware of the importance of compliance with the rules to preserve road traffic safety ; create awareness in the driver of having violated the speed limits as a result of the immediate notification of the offense since the "telelaser" device used allows the driver who violates the speed limits to be stopped at which the illegal conduct is immediately contested.

Among the triggers , distracted driving linked to the senseless use of the cell phone ranks first. Drunk driving has also recorded rather worrying data: 101 drivers reported in 2022, 69 in 2021, with a percentage increase of 44.2% in one year of drivers in a state of psycho-physical impairment due to the alcohol, by 52.9% for taking drugs or psychotropic substances.
