Two managers of the Ambiente Italia company, Enrico Besta and Stefano Moro, have been indicted by the court of Sassari for the death of the worker Gianuario Derudas , the 43-year-old from Sassari crushed by the forklift on which he worked at the municipal eco-center in via Ariosto, in Sassari on October 15, 2021.

They have to answer for manslaughter.

The investigating judge Gian Paolo Piana accepted the request for indictment presented by the prosecutor, Paolo Piras . Derudas worked on a forklift equipped with a mechanical gripper with which he was moving waste. The vehicle overturned due to the slope of the ground. The worker had jumped down trying to save himself, but had been crushed by the forklift.

The two defendants are accused of not having equipped the worker with the necessary safety measures (investigations would have shown that the forklift did not have a safety belt) and of not having identified and indicated the risks relating to waste loading and unloading operations in the yard of the eco-centre . The trial will open in July.
