The deputy mayor of the Municipality of Sassari Gianfranco Meazza has resigned . This morning the councilor for social services presented the decision, thus putting an end to his mandate. Meazza postponed the explanation of his gesture until later in the day but, according to initial rumours, it would be the consequence of his recent speech at an event to present a candidacy in the Region .

The lawyer spoke on that occasion, as also demonstrated by some photos on social media, in contravention of a veto that would have been given by the mayor Nanni Campus to all the councillors .

An alleged ban consisted in non-active participation in the various initiatives in view of the Regionals. Gianfranco Meazza thus becomes, after Alessandra Corda, Francesca Masala and Antonella Lugliè, the fourth councilor to resign from the Campus council.
