Extortion, aggravated injuries, damage. These are the crimes that led prosecutor Maria Paola Asara to ask, yesterday in court in Sassari, for seven years' imprisonment for a man from Sassari.

According to the accusations, in 2021 the sixty-year-old beat the man he believed to be the perpetrator of the theft of some of his goods in a garage, hitting him in the face and body, perhaps with pincers, together with another person. Subsequently, the accused went to the home of the person and his partner, setting fire to the home's meter after cutting the circuit breaker wires.

The deputy prosecutor found the extortion, the injuries aggravated by the use of the weapon and the damage proven but not the kidnapping. The prosecutor also requested acquittal for the other defendant, a 62-year-old, also defended by the lawyer Paolo Spano, who was accused of having threatened the attacked person with prison at a later time.

The panel, chaired by Giancosimo Mura, alongside Monia Adami and Sara Pelicci, postponed until April for the replies.
