A piece of tuff from the cathedral of San Nicola in Sassari ends up on the road. This morning, this is one of the hypotheses, it could have been the cause of the collapse of a van traveling along the narrow alley of the Campanile a few meters from the Palazzo Ducale, seat of the Municipality. The fallen part was located in the corner of the building, between the road and the widening of the square, at a height of about two meters from the ground.

To understand if the eventual vehicle went down, therefore going in the wrong direction, or went up. Certainly there is the scraping on the tuff brick following the one removed as to indicate a very close passage. At the moment there is still no news of the possible involuntary author of the collapse.

It is not the first time that the Cathedral, perhaps the most important sacred building in Sassari and a valuable crossroads of architectural styles, has suffered damage. The most recent one dates back to March last year when some unknown people declared their mutual love by writing with purple spray on the paving of the Campanile alley. And the noble sentiment was always the basis of another inscription, in 2016, this time imprinted on the facade of the cathedral.
