Sassari, 50 thousand fireworks seized: risk of explosions
The 17 boxes were stored near flammable material such as lighters, plastic items and napkins
As every year, especially in view of the New Year, the activity of the State Police in the prevention and repression of crimes related to the possession and sale of pyrotechnic material is strengthened.
In recent days, a check was carried out in the warehouse adjacent to a shed used for commercial activity in the industrial area of Sassari.
The room, in evident precarious conditions and with an asbestos roof, contained several pyrotechnic articles in a very bad state of conservation. As if that were not enough, everything was kept close to other easily flammable material, such as lighters, plastic objects and napkins.
All the material, that is 17 boxes with about 50 thousand pyrotechnic devices, was seized and entrusted to a specialized company for safekeeping.
The Fire Brigade and staff of the Spresal (Workplace Prevention and Safety Service) also intervened on the spot for their respective duties.
