Staff cuts and new skills required of employees . This is the scenario in Sardinia denounced by the Coordination of Therapeutic Communities - CEAS , which urgently requests a hearing by the Health Commission of the Regional Council . The emergency on the agenda is the one resulting from the recent resolution of the Council on the accreditation requirements of the Sardinia Region for rehabilitation facilities, according to which 65% of those employed on permanent contracts should be fired, to be replaced with workers in possession of new professional qualifications .

«In our structures – specifies the Coordination in a note – approximately 100 educators with a degree in Education and Training Sciences work . Furthermore, as reiterated many times formally and informally to the competent regional department, there is not a sufficient number of professional health educators in Sardinia for the required replacement ". "This policy no longer listens to anyone", commented the president of the Coordination, Giovanna Grillo. «Not only that: it demonstrates that you do not know or in any case do not apply the laws in force. It is a very serious fact, especially if we consider that communities are the expression of democratic participation in a very delicate social process."

«I am the historical memory of drug addiction in Sardinia, because I have lived among it for 43 years. I have never experienced a season like this, in which dealers, drugs and users are increasing and the two pillars that monitor the territory, namely the Serd and the therapeutic communities, are in deep crisis", explains Father Salvatore Morittu (Mondo X-Sardinia) who founded the first community on the island in 1980 in Cagliari. «It seems that this topic does not enter the political agenda. And he hasn't been in it for several years. On the contrary, the territory tells us that this is one of the greatest revolutions underway. Faced with this reality we have a politics and a bureaucracy that go their own way, without intercepting any of those who work in the area alongside the people. They write the laws without consulting those who deal with these problems on a daily basis. They rightly forced us to have a multidisciplinary team and safety guarantees, which have their costs, but then you discover that they want to divide health spending with social spending, bringing it to the expense of the Municipalities which have empty coffers and, therefore, they refer to families, to people." All the members of the Coordination have the same opinion.
