The protests do not stop due to the dramatic situation facing Sardinian territorial healthcare: in the next few days the Coordination of Sardinian public health committees (CCSSP) will promote two demonstrations: one in Nuoro and the other in Terralba.

Tomorrow, Thursday 23 May, at 10am, the SOS Sanità Barbagia-Mandrolisai Committee, which represents 14 communities, is organizing a sit-in in front of the Areus in Nuoro, to protest against the shortcomings of the emergency emergency system in the area.

«Not only has the Sorgono hospital, a point of reference for the area, been largely dismantled», attack the representatives of the Coordination of Committees, «but the only ambulance in the area that should be "medicalized" is not: in fact only 16.5% of shifts (10 out of 60) are covered by the presence of a doctor. In the remaining shifts, i.e. in 83.5% of cases, only nursing care is present. The situation is serious, and must be addressed immediately."

On May 24, however, the protest promoted by the CCSSP moves to Terralba, with a focus on basic medicine. At 6.30 pm in the municipal theater of Terralba, an assembly is convened for the right to health in the territory: «The increasingly urgent topic is that of basic medicine», explain the organizers of the meeting, «we are talking about a community of 10 thousand inhabitants that is losing basic medical care, and the same can be said for many areas of Oristano and central Sardinia. We ask that law 833/78 be respected, which establishes, among other things, that every citizen must be registered with the National Health Service and therefore have a general practitioner or pediatrician of free choice. We promote these initiatives, in Nuoro and Terralba, because we demand fair, accessible, quality and above all public healthcare", conclude the representatives of the Coordination of the committees.

Meanwhile, tomorrow the 48-hour strike of nurses and health workers in the Brotzu facilities proclaimed by the Nursing up union will begin.
