They are very young, and already use the internet every day. In Sardinia, as many as 71% of children and young people between the ages of 6 and 17, over seven out of ten, use it daily . A figure slightly lower than the national average, which stands at 73%. This is what emerges from the fourteenth edition of the Atlas of childhood at risk, "Digital Times", released by Save the Children for World Children's Day.

In particular, the favorite activity of teenagers is watching videos , a hobby for 84% of them, even higher than frequenting social media, which stops at 79%. Among these, the popularity of Facebook is collapsing, supplanted by Instagram, TikTok and Snapchat.

Many use the internet for video games (72.4%, but more among boys than among girls), while almost everyone uses instant messaging apps such as WhatsApp and Telegram, as much as 93% of teenagers between 14 and 17 years old .

Among the new possibilities offered by the web there is also information : 28.5% of young people between 11 and 17 years old read magazines and newspapers online, but the figure grows if the group between 11 and 13 years of age is excluded. The data relating to cyberbullying is worrying: 13% declare they are victims of it.
