"We were right. We immediately asked the company that is carrying out this merger project for clarifications on an operation for which the Region has never been consulted and in response we received a warning to issue statements or take initiatives. Now ENAC is clarifying everything and putting everything back on the path of respecting the rules and recognizing the Region's prerogatives». The situation was summed up after ENAC's note against the merger project between Geasar and Sogeaal by the councilor for transport, Antonio Moro, in the Regional Council .

The national civil aviation agency leaves no room for interpretation: the plan of F2i, the investment fund that controls the majority of the two airports and has been negotiating for months to get its hands on Sogaer (Cagliari) as well, must stop. There is a lack of adequate guarantees for the Region, which must maintain its role in the management of a crucial sector for the development of the island.

The reasons for the no revolve around the quotas: now the Region controls about 24% and 6% of the two airports in Northern Sardinia, while in the merger project it is expected to keep just over 3%, a threshold below 10% "necessary to have the right to request the convening of the meeting".

It is said, however, that this is the last episode of the story. Because Geasar and Sogeaal are willing to move forward.
