Burcei, following Sunday's accident, the Committee calls for the safety of 10 roads.

Sunday night's tragedy, with the death of Natalina Lugas in the accident near Burranca, has once again mobilized the Burcei Citizens' Committee, which has consistently called for action to secure the former Orientale Sarda highway and provincial road 21, which leads from Campuomu to the town. It has also urged the start of construction work on the new Burcei-Sinnai-Maracalagonis road.

The Committee "expresses its deepest condolences and sympathy to our friend Salvatore Tolu, a member of the Committee and husband of the victim of the accident that occurred on the former SS 125. These condolences and sympathy must be extended to all the family members."
In the face of yet another tragedy, "the Committee feels it is necessary to forcefully reiterate what has been repeatedly denounced: the former SS 125, like the SP 21 leading to Burcei, presents critical issues that require urgent routine and extraordinary maintenance to ensure their safety. The various critical issues have been reported too often, highlighting the dangerous situations that, unfortunately, still exist today on a road traveled daily by several hundred vehicles. These dangers also include the risk of falling branches of large, dead pine trees."
In the press release signed by Salvatore Malloru, Andrea Lobina, Giuseppe Lorrai, Francesca Pitzalis,
Ignazio Saddi and Vittorio Monni, the statement also states that "after the loss of a human life, there is no longer a time for waiting. Safety improvements must be expedited on both the old former SS 125 and the SP 21 leading to Burcei. We once again urge the construction of the new Burcei-Sinnai-Maracalagonis provincial road, a long-awaited infrastructure that will improve road safety, prevent recurrences of tragic events, and shorten travel times. For years, we have been asking for a listening ear and concrete action. Our reports are not intended to fuel controversy but to prevent tragedies like this. Today, we ask, even more forcefully, that this dramatic event represent a turning point: the safety of citizens must become a top priority."
