Sardinia is about to enter a furnace. Four days of intense heat are expected, starting tomorrow. So much so that the regional civil protection has issued a notice of adverse weather conditions due to high temperatures: the bulletin   it is valid from noon on June 19th until 6pm on the 22nd.

«The European synoptic situation is characterized by the presence of a cyclonic system on the Atlantic Ocean, the trough of which extends as far as the coasts of Western Europe», reads the bulletin issued by the decentralized functional centre, «and by a high pressure field over central-western Europe. Starting tomorrow", therefore, "a gradual expansion of the high pressure field towards the central Mediterranean is expected. The combined action of these baric structures will favor the influx of hot air of African origin on Sardinia".

Locally very high temperatures are expected in northern and western Sardinia, «increasing further the following day. On Wednesday and Thursday, very high temperatures will affect the whole region».

The maximum temperatures, over the course of the period, " could locally exceed 40°".

A yellow alert was also issued for the same days for the danger of fire: the areas concerned are first the western ones, with a subsequent extension to northern Gallura.
