In just a few hours , Italy, including Sardinia , will experience the fourth wave of extreme heat of the year with the forceful return of the African anticyclone.
Temperatures significantly above the seasonal average are expected and could even last until August 10th.
According to the forecasts of Lorenzo Tedici, meteorologist at iLMeteo.it, from Wednesday 29 July, warm air masses coming from North Africa are expected over the Mediterranean with the return of the subtropical anticyclone which will bring temperatures above 40 degrees in Sardinia .
In addition to high temperatures, we will have to deal with humidity, especially in coastal areas and large cities , where the climate will become muggy.
The anticyclonic conditions will also be accompanied this time by an almost total absence of precipitation , with a further worsening of the drought and conditions favourable to the spread of fires .
