More fires in Sardinia, with hectares upon hectares of land up in smoke .

On Saturday 21 June , there were 36 interventions by fire-fighting teams in as many locations on the island and in nine municipalities it was also necessary to deploy aircraft to support ground operations, coordinated by the Forestry Corps, with the support of the Fire Brigade, Forestas and volunteers .

One of the most challenging fronts in the Municipality of Villasimius , in the R. Fillaris area, where the flames have covered an area of several hectares of low scrub.

In the countryside of Tiana – where a helicopter took off from Farcana also went into action – the fire attacked pastures and vegetation. Ten hectares of pastures also went up in smoke in Bolotana .

At the gates of Nuoro – where a fire even threatened some homes in Preda Istrada ( READ ) – two helicopters intervened together with several teams from the Forestry Corps, Forestas and Fire Brigade, while in Senorbì , the area hit by the flames was that of Is Forreddus, flown over by no less than five aircraft : the helicopters from the CFVA bases of Pula, San Cosimo, the Super Puma of Fenosu, a Canadair from Olbia and an Air Force helicopter from the Decimomannu Base.

And, again, super-work for the ground teams and for the helicopters also in the countryside of Jerzu, Ossi, Ulassai and Orgosolo.
