Sardinia, 20 fires in a few hours: several hectares of land in smoke

Another day of incessant work for the fire fighting teams of Sardinia .

On Sunday 18 September, twenty fires broke out in as many areas of the island . Helicopters also went into action in six municipalities.

The air vehicles carried out launches in the countryside of Burgos and Berchidda , to reclaim the areas affected by the fires that broke out on Saturday.

The helicopters then intervened in Abbasanta , where the flames crossed two hectares of wooded pasture and cork forest, and in Decimoputzu , where 4 hectares of reeds and eucalyptus went up in smoke.

Water launches from the sky also in Scano di Montiferro , where the fire has created damage on an area of about 10 hectares of pasture.

Finally, two helicopters in action in Olzai , in the “M. Preda de ledda ”, where the flames attacked a tree-lined area.
