A single gunshot proved fatal for Francesco Salis, the 44-year-old killed on the night between Friday and Saturday in Santa Giusta . In jail on charges of voluntary homicide is Andrea Giuntoli, a 43-year-old worker .
The autopsy, performed by Roberto Demontis, revealed that only one shot was fired at close range : the rifle loaded with pellets hit the lower abdomen causing a hemorrhage that then left the bricklayer with no chance of survival . Francesco Salis, despite immediate assistance, died shortly after his arrival at San Martino.
Meanwhile, the investigations of the Carabinieri continue, on Friday at the provincial command of the Carabinieri a unique investigation is scheduled on the Alfa Romeo Giuletta used by Giuntoli . The military will have to verify the presence of any traces of the shot on the car.
The fight dates back to the night between Friday and Saturday. Salis and Giuntoli apparently started arguing inside a bar in the center, it seems that the bricklayer did not appreciate some compliments addressed by the worker to his niece but it seems that the disagreements had been going on for days . It is not known whether they arranged to meet in via Dante to clear things up, or whether Salis with a stick and then a billhook went after Giuntoli and then the situation worsened. Certainly in via Dante the niece and another girl were also present, there was apparently a fight then that shot was fired from the hunting rifle that left no escape for Salis .
Andrea Giuntoli then left, was reached at home by the carabinieri and admitted his responsibilities . Assisted by the lawyer Patrizio Rovelli, he is in prison accused of voluntary homicide; the Salis family is assisted by the lawyer Fabio Costa.
