After five years I managed to evict the tenant who had n't paid the rent for a long time. When we went with the bailiff, we found out that my house had been turned into a landfill. Inside the property I found seven dogs and a cat, but also tons of waste, hundreds of empty boxes of pet food and the inside filled with food and feces ”. The nightmare of Matteo Isola , 52 years old from Cagliari, materialized on 3 October, when with the bailiff, a blacksmith, some dog catchers and the carabinieri, they started the forced recovery of the country house, in Sant'Isidoro. , which he rented in 2015.

The story

“I had rented it with a regular contract - he says -, and everything had gone well until August 2018, when first the payments of the rents began to be delayed, then nothing. I tried several times to contact the tenant on Whatsapp and on social media, but it was impossible because I was blocked. At that point I entrusted myself to the lawyer Francesco Mastino and we started the procedure for the eviction ”. Because it took the judge's ruling and the provision became enforceable on February 6, 2020, but shortly thereafter, the blocking of evictions was triggered due to the Covid epidemic. “How they unlocked everything - he continues - we went with the bailiff on 21 September, but we found that two meters high wire mesh fences had been erected in the ground and that there were dogs inside. To protect everyone's safety, at that point, the officer decided to postpone the execution ”.

The intervention

"We are back on October 3 with the police and two operators of the Shardana kennel called to ensure safety", explains Matteo Isola, "the dogs are immobilized and we see that there is no one on the property, but we are faced with a mess . Inside it is full of excrement and pet food, there is a dog in desperate condition and, in the cages, four others who are kept apart. In the end it turns out that there are seven, 6 with the microchip and one without. There is waste of all kinds: refrigerators, water heaters, mattresses, washing machines, heat pumps, all piled up, along with piles of cans of pet food. In order to regain possession of my house, I was forced to become a keeper of dogs and a cat, but I don't know how to do it ".

The appeal

A few days ago Matteo Isola has returned in possession of his house which has been transformed into a dunghill. “I don't know how to do it - he protests - six dogs had microchips, so it would have been very easy to identify the owner and return them to him. A week later it still hasn't been done. Instead I was forced to become their judicial custodian and now by law I would have to take care of it and spend a lot of money, only to make up for the former tenant who has nothing and who, perhaps, is accumulating other dogs somewhere else. Plus I don't know how to dispose of these tons of waste. I inquired and this too, in theory, would be at my expense, with a subsequent reimbursement of expenses. In fact, I fell into a nightmare and I don't know how to get out of it anymore. I ask the institutions to help me, because I have already incurred huge expenses and I don't know how to do it. It is not fair that I should take care of these animals, risking my safety, and pay thousands of euros to clean up everything ”.
