The manager of the Tribute Service of the Municipality of Cagliari, Giovanni Battista Ena, is the Alter Nos for the 368th edition of the Feast of Sant'Efisio.

The mayor of Cagliari Paolo Truzzu announced it in the City Council chamber: «Today the new Regional Council was proclaimed», said the mayor, «so we all know that in May there will not be an administration in office. For this reason I believed that the Alter Nos should not be a city councilor, nor a councilor, but an employee." And the choice fell on an "esteemed" manager, who I believe should also be shown closeness for what has happened to him over the course of this year.

Ena had been the victim of an attack: unknown persons had burned the car parked in the courtyard of his home.

The person concerned, contacted a few seconds after the announcement at Palazzo Bacaredda, if not in shock, was almost there: «I am very honoured, I will represent my city. I really don't know what to say. I thank the mayor and the entire city council."

The words are interspersed with laughter that expresses a mixture of joy, emotion and tension. "I'm used to being in the office, I've never had to deal with a large public." And on May 1st Cagliari will be packed. Ena will be the representative of the Municipality in the presence of the saint. And he will have to move on horseback: «Me? No, I don't know how to go there", underlines Ena, "I'll have to learn". And he adds, dismayed: «Cess'». He repeats it seven times. A very Cagliari way to express amazement, fibrillation, emotion. In short: a boiling of feelings.
