From yesterday evening until May 6th, the Unione Sarda and the Cagliaritan artist Mara Damiani are celebrating Sant'Efisio with two initiatives : one is the setting up of the Rinascente shop windows in the capital, the other involves distribution on newsstands, with the daily newspaper , of a notebook dedicated to the celebration in honor of the warrior martyr, symbol of an entire island.

The windows of the historic department store overlooking the port of Cagliari have a privileged position for the celebrations of Sant'Efisio and become a point of reference for the publishing group L'Unione Sarda and Mara Damiani to celebrate the largest religious, cultural and identity festival of Sardinia. A window (the second on Via Roma starting from the intersection with Largo Carlo Felice) is dedicated to the leading media in Sardinia who every year talk about Sant'Efisio through L'Unione Sarda, Videolina, Radiolina, Sardegna1 and L'Unione Sarda.it.

The story takes place through the evocative historical images produced by Videolina's cameras, accompanied by a very original traditional Sardinian dress in which the historical pages of the newspaper which from 1890 to today have covered the most popular festival on the island will be embroidered. exhibition of historical instruments that allowed Radiolina, and not only, to tell the story of the event in the past.

The windows designed by the Cagliari-based designer and artist Mara Damiani will represent Sant'Efisio through the colors and sacred symbolism linked to the Saint: the confraternal cross, the golden fleece, the silver maces. The blue and white colors of the simulacrum are connected to its great dedication to the Virgin Mary while the red color is linked to the passion of Christ and the concept of love and rebirth. Gold, on the other hand, is the color that ennobles the representation.

On the same dates, a notebook for the celebration of the Feast of Sant'Efisio designed by the artist Mara Damiani will be distributed with L'Unione Sarda (for only 3.50 euros plus the price of the newspaper). The cover depicts the traditional costumes of Sardinia which every year, from 1st to 4th May, parade on foot, on horseback or on traccas in a moving and grandiose procession.
