Rescue at sea by the Coast Guard , in the late morning of today, in the Gulf of Palmas , after a request for help from the staff of the Costa Smeralda cruise ship , for a 23-year-old girl from the crew of Brazilian origins who fell ill.

The ship , which departed yesterday afternoon from Palma de Mallorca to reach the city of Palermo, at the time of the SOS was located close to the southwest coast of Sardinia , therefore the staff of the Port Authority of Sant'Antioco was immediately alerted, who on board the patrol boat CP812 reached the large ship, which in the meantime, given the non-optimal weather and sea conditions, reached the Gulf of Palmas, where the coast guard personnel, with many difficulties due to the strong winds, proceeded to transfer of the girl on the patrol boat for the transfer to the commercial port of the Sulcis island.

The operators of the 118 Calasetta Rescue Volunteers were already waiting on the quay, who proceeded to accompany the young girl to the large square of the port, where the ambulance landed for the transfer to the Brotzu hospital in Cagliari.
