Sant'Antioco, fatal bicycle excursion: he collapses and dies in front of his wife

Tragic ending of a cycling excursion for a 73 year old German tourist. After traveling several kilometres, he feels ill, falls from his bicycle and dies.

It happened around 12 in the tourist resort of Maladroxia, in Sant'Antioco, where during a bicycle excursion, in the company of his wife, along the road that connects the Canai plain to the prestigious seaside resort, he suddenly lost his control of the vehicle and fell to the ground hitting his head.

The 118 ambulances came to his aid. They tried to resuscitate him for some time, unfortunately to no avail. The air ambulance also intervened but attempts to keep the tourist alive proved in vain. The illness could be traced back to a heart disease from which the German tourist apparently had been suffering for some time.

Guest in a B&B in the area, he couldn't resist the idea of a bike ride to admire the beauty of the island. The Carabinieri of the local station were also on site.
