Routine exhumations and disinterments will resume on September 21st at the San Michele cemetery in Cagliari. This operation, required by current mortuary police regulations, will specifically involve Quadrato 8 (Campo delle Palme) and the tombs whose concessions expired in 2019.

The exhumations will concern the bodies buried in Square 8 , while the exhumations will concern the tombs with concessions that are no longer valid.

Relatives of the deceased involved are invited to contact the Municipal Cemetery Office as soon as possible to arrange the procedures and receive all the necessary information.

If the remains are not completely mineralized, a new burial will be arranged for a period of five years , or cremation may be requested, with the family paying the costs. The ashes may then be entrusted to relatives or interred on site.

If the remains are completely mineralized , they will be transferred to the municipal ossuary, unless the family requests otherwise.

All measures are available on the Municipality's notice board. To avoid confusion or decisions made in the absence of family members, the administration recommends contacting the relevant offices promptly.
