«Parents should teach their daughters not to ape boys and not to get drunk!!».

Massimiliano Orrù, commander of the municipal police of San Gavino Monreale , entrusts Facebook with his very personal version of the phrase that has been bouncing on social media profiles for days following the rape of a 19-year-old Palermitan girl who was made drunk and raped by a group of her peers.

“The only thing to do when you're with a drunk girl is to take her home. Teach it to your children », this is the original text to which the fire chief thought it was right to offer a new declination as a comment on the post of a social friend of hers. To those who asked him «Why is getting drunk acceptable for males?», he replied: «It's good for us males once in a while... it's terrible for you. Stay women and don't try to be men... You are female and not male».

Finally, faced with the interlocutor's compliant reply, she suggested: "Here, do the right thing... go to sleep because you women shouldn't be around, not even virtual, at this hour... Night and lock up". The messages - public - were then deleted by the commander, to no avail. Because many had already frozen the conversation in a series of screenshots that have been circulating in and outside San Gavino Monreale for 48 hours, unleashing a storm around the Town Hall led by Mayor Carlo Tomasi. To which the Medio Campidano Feminas anti-violence center has asked for measures to be taken "useful to censor the bad behavior of the employee, as well as a public official".

Tomasi says he is "strongly embarrassed": "Obviously we distance ourselves from the commander's words which risk damaging an administration that has always been committed to defending the rights of everyone and women in particular".
