Is there a gang specialized in stealing supermarket safes that operates between Cagliari and the hinterland? Whether the same criminal group is behind the long series of successful or attempted robberies is not yet certain. Although it is probable. Certainly the series of similar assaults has become long and the thieves' activity is profitable.

The latest haul is 80 thousand euros: that's how much money was inside the safe of the IperPan on the old 131, in Sestu, robbed last night. The method of action? Breaking in, the "safe" with the money tied with a rope to a car and then loaded onto the vehicle used for the getaway. A lightning strike. Like all the previous ones.

The first, at least among the known ones, was carried out in early November in via del Pozzetto, in the Quartiere del Sole, in Cagliari: two bandits, just before dawn, broke a window, pulled over a car – a white Giulietta – to which they tied a fire hose used to sling the safe, which was then dragged out. All in seven minutes. The stolen goods in that case were several thousand euros. And there were images from the cameras, then as now.

Same scene in Decimomannu, at the end of last month. Only in that case the supermarket alarm made the carabinieri arrive promptly: the safe remained in the square and the bandits, chased, managed to escape. According to what has leaked out, there was always a Giulietta involved.

At the same time, Assemini supermarket: a broken glass window was found. And a few days later someone tried to force the entrance of another market in Cagliari.

This is news that has become public. But according to leaks, there have been attempted thefts for which, so far, there is no official confirmation. In the meantime, the gang has struck again and the investigations of the Carabinieri continue.
