A transfer of 12.8 million euros with value as of January 30th: the day before landing on the island - to present the new summer fulls - Ryanair managers paid off the huge debt towards Sogaer linked to the municipal surcharge on boarding tax.

That is, the famous 6.5 euros that weigh on each ticket and that the low-cost company asks the Government (and the Regions) to eliminate. The news had been anticipated in recent days by the Irish commercial director Jason Mc Guinness, and has now also been made official by Sogaer with a press release: Ryanair paid the money into the accounts of Cagliari airport, «which promptly proceeded to transfer the amount to those entitled". That is, the State, which with part of those sums feeds the INPS extraordinary fund dedicated to air transport.

The inspectors of the Ministry of Economy turned the spotlight on the debt a few months ago, at the end of a long investigation into Sogaer's financial statements. The 12.8 million accumulated between 2014 and 2016, and until a few days ago they had not yet been collected.
