Run over and killed in Carloforte, hunt for a pirate of the road
The victim was 40 years old, a passer-by found the body
Fatal accident this morning on the island of San Pietro, it is a hunt for a pirate of the road.
A 40-year-old woman was hit by a car in the street near the cemetery (Giunco area) where she went for a jog every morning.
The car that overwhelmed her moved away without the driver stopping to help her, so it is not clear at what time the crash occurred. The woman was found lifeless by a citizen of Carloforte who was passing through the area and immediately gave the alarm.
On the asphalt, not far from the woman's body, there were tire marks and some parts of the car that overwhelmed her. The carabinieri of the Carloforte station, the ambulance of local volunteers (unfortunately there was nothing to do for the woman) and the mayor Tore Puggioni rushed to the place.
Immediately, while we were proceeding to the reliefs, the manhunt began. At the moment it cannot be said whether the woman died instantly or if a quick rescue would have saved her life.
