Of this morning's robbery in the 131 at km 184 near Siligo, the story of the first witnesses emerges, passing through the scene shortly after 8 in the morning. Among these Daniele Pinna (46 years old) , football agent from Sassari , who was traveling towards Cagliari for yet another day of work. «These are hectic days for the transfer market – says Pinna – and so I left early to arrive in the capital mid-morning, where I had a technical meeting. When I reached Siligo I noticed the first cars in a double row and a column of smoke. I immediately thought it was a robbery and not an accident. The dynamics were different from that of a car collision."

Not even time to pull over and Pinna witnesses the inferno: «I braked and turned on the double indicators - he adds - when I heard the first gunshots between vigilantes and bandits, first close together and then moved more to the side. The police arrived after several minutes together with the ambulances to help the injured guards. After more than half an hour also the Areus helicopter." Pinna adds: «Several shots were fired, probably from Ak47s and the screams of the bandits could clearly be heard as they opened an escape route. We were afraid and the panic was visible in everyone's faces, especially among the first in the column to have been blocked, with the criminals' request to get out of the vehicles and go back."

Further details emerge: «To block traffic – specifies Pinna – they used a large chain and nails. They were clearly experienced and ready to do anything to carry out the heist. I consider it lucky that I didn't arrive at the same time as the roadblock." There is also a thought for the injured vigilantes: «I hope they can recover as soon as possible. Every day they risk their lives underpaid and exposed to very high risks. If a massacre hasn't occurred, it's only a miracle."
