Road accidents, Sardinia mourns 8 victims in two days

Eight deaths in two days. Sardinia mourns the victims who lost their lives in 5 road accidents between yesterday and today.
The latest, in chronological order, occurred today in Cagliari where, in the Genneruxi district, a woman was hit while crossing the road . Immediately rescued, she was transferred to the Brotzu emergency room in desperate conditions. She died shortly after.
Also today, in Paulilatino , Raffaele Usai, 72 years old, was hit and killed by a car in Via Roma. The driver, a 61-year-old from the town, was perhaps dazzled by the sun. The impact left Usai no escape.
Last night, however, in the Padru area , a 78-year-old resident of Olbia went off the road on provincial road 24 . He was aboard an SUV of which he lost control. From initial investigations, he got out of the vehicle without engaging gear or handbrake, and was hit and killed.
Yesterday Davide Martini , 24 years old, from Pula, was the victim of a terrible collision between his motorbike and a bus in Santa Margherita. He hit his head on the vehicle and died instantly.
Already at dawn on Sunday all of Sardinia woke up to the dramatic news of the accident that occurred in Cagliari in Viale Marconi , where four young people lost their lives. Together with two other friends, who were injured, they were in a Ford Fiesta and were returning from an evening at Poetto. The car, out of control, first ended up on a pavement, then on a wall, and finally overturned after a series of carambolas.
The victims are Alessandro Sanna, 19 years old; Najibe Lavinia Zaher, his peer; Simone Picci, 20 years old; Giorgia Banchero, 24.
The bodies have been returned to the families for the organization of the funeral, there are many friends who are currently bringing flowers, cards and dolls to the site of the tragedy.
