Record birthday to Siurgus Donigala: Luigi Boi turned 107.

In the history of the centenarians of the town of Lake Mulargia, grandfather Luigi Boi is so far the longest-lived. An only child, brought into the world by Marietta Piacenza, originally from Piedmont, daughter of an employee of the company that built the narrow-gauge railway line in Sardinia, and Costantino, a farmer, was born in Siurgus Donigala on February 22, 1915, three months before Italy's participation in the First World War.

After having obtained the elementary school certificate, he was unable to continue his studies because, having lost his father, it was up to him to devote himself to the management of the family farm. On his birthday he received a visit from the mayor Antonello Perra who snatched a promise from him. "In July - says the mayor - he will come to celebrate the hundredth birthday of my father, his dear friend, passionate like him about big game hunting and football".

As a young player he was also a footballer, the oldest in town still remember his deadly shots from outside the box. A great fan of Cagliari, until a few years ago he went to the stadium to watch Cagliari matches at home.

Passionate about travel, he knows every corner of Sardinia. He is always looked after by his only daughter, Lella, who never fails to give him all the necessary attention.
