The weather alert in Sardinia will last at least until Monday evening, already whipped by wind and rain and also by hail. As in Mandas, where a hailstorm has covered the streets and roofs of the town with white, even if no serious damage has been reported.

Temperatures are plummeting (they could drop by as much as ten degrees) and snow is expected even below five hundred meters in height.

The forecasts for the next few days announce scattered rainfall on the island, with the snow that will descend to hilly altitudes from Monday afternoon. On Tuesday, weather conditions should improve, only to get worse again on Wednesday.

The Municipality of Cagliari has issued an alert, echoing that of the regional civil protection, which reads: “Sparse rainfall is expected in the western sector and isolated elsewhere, also due to isolated showers or thunderstorms. Precipitation may be snowy with accumulation, initially above 900 meters of altitude, gradually descending up to 600 meters. Local snowfall without accumulation will be possible even at lower altitudes. The cumulative precipitations (in equivalent water) will be weak or, punctually, moderate. Given the gradually decreasing temperatures, local frosts will also be possible on the whole island even at altitudes below 600 meters ".
