Sardinia is still at the mercy of very high temperatures and mugginess. A new heat wave alert bulletin was issued today by the Decentralized Functional Center of the Regional Civil Protection, which reports adverse weather conditions from 12:00 on Sunday 29 June until 18:00 on Monday 30 June throughout the island.

Maximum temperatures will be high or very high everywhere , first in the western sectors and then, during the day on Monday, also in the eastern ones. The most extreme peaks could exceed 40-41 degrees , while minimums will hardly fall below 20.

The heat wave poses serious risks to public health, especially for the most vulnerable groups: the elderly, children, people with chronic diseases, those taking medications, workers exposed to the sun and athletes. The Civil Protection invites citizens to avoid exposure during the hottest hours, to drink plenty of water, eat light meals and wear light and light clothing. Particular attention must be paid to fragile or non-self-sufficient people.
