Final stages of the closed-door trial in the Tempio Pausania court, for the alleged gang rape involving Ciro Grillo and three of his Genoese friends, Edoardo Capitta, Vittorio Lauria and Francesco Corsiglia.

On Monday at 9:30, the floor will be given to the prosecutor Gregorio Capasso for the closing speech. The trial phase ended last March 24 when the dates for the start of the discussion were set. On Monday, Capasso will advance his requests and the following day, Tuesday, July 1, it will be the turn of the civil parties.

Following this, on July 10, 11 and 12, it will be the turn of the defendants' defense. The facts contested to the four Genoese friends date back to July 2019, on the night between the 16th and 17th, when a 19-year-old Italian-Norwegian student on holiday in Costa Smeralda with friends, allegedly suffered a gang rape inside the terraced house owned by the Grillo family in Porto Cervo, after an evening spent in the clubs of the Costa and ending at the Billionaire, where the alleged victim and a friend of hers had met the four, then deciding to follow them to Grillo Jr.'s house. Here the violence allegedly took place, which the four have always denied, speaking of consensual relations. According to the prosecution and the civil party, the defendants took turns abusing the student, now 23, taking advantage of her psychological and physical inferiority at that time due to an excess of alcoholic beverages consumed during the evening. The defense has maintained maximum confidentiality regarding the possibility of the four being present in the courtroom to make spontaneous statements.

So far, the only one to have done so, having been heard in court for a total of 12 hours, was Corsiglia, defended by lawyers Antonella Cuccureddu and Gennaro Velle. None of the other three defendants have ever appeared in court before the panel presided over by Judge Marco Contu, although they could decide to speak at any time during the hearings scheduled until mid-July.
