The 250 refrigeration towers destined for the cells of the Ettore Scalas Prison in Uta have been delivered, which will provide concrete relief to inmates during the hottest months. The initiative carried out by the Domus de Luna Foundation is part of the activities of the Alimentis project, supported by the Fondazione di Sardegna and the Autonomous Region of Sardinia, and made possible thanks to the collaboration with Trony.
"I thank Domus de Luna, Trony and the Alimentis Consortium," said Pietro Borruto, the new director of the prison, "because through this donation our inmates can try to live a less torrid summer. I took up the position a few months ago, but Domus de Luna has been collaborating with us for several years: our primary objective is to provide relief not only to the prison population, but more generally to those who live and work inside the Institute ."
"We delivered a turret for each cell," explained Ugo Bressanello, founder of Domus de Luna, "to try to cool the atmosphere a bit and make sure that the summer is a little less torrid and the spirits are more serene. It is one of the initiatives that we have set up thanks to the existing collaboration with the new director and his staff . We are grateful to those who delivered the turrets, namely Jumbo Trony, and to those who paid for them, namely Alimentis, the consortium supported by the Fondazione della Sardegna and the Autonomous Region of Sardinia."
"It is a simple but important gesture, which speaks of dignity and attention to people, even in places where sometimes we tend to forget solidarity . The heat can become unbearable inside a cell," concluded Bressanello. "Let's try to prevent tempers from flaring and confinement from becoming even more difficult to bear."
