"Sardinian traditions are untouchable". The Sardinian Reformers present a bill to protect religious, historical and cultural events threatened by the Abodi decree on the safety, health and well-being of athletes, horses and the public in events that take place outside authorized facilities.
Tensions are very high, the risk that events that have been handed down for centuries could go up in smoke – such as the Ardia of Sedilo, or the Palio dell'Assunta in Orgosolo, the races of Guasila, Fonni, Bono, San Giovanni Suergiu, Pozzomaggiore – is shaking the communities and the whole of Sardinia, so much so that the issue has already been brought to Parliament with the interventions of the deputies Pietro Pittalis (FI) and Francesco Mura (FdI).
At the regional level, councilors Aldo Salaris, Umberto Ticca and Giuseppe Fasolino are taking to the field with a measure that aims to safeguard the identity of the Island and give a clear response to the national measure that introduces "inadequate timing and rules", such as helmets and jackets for riders, barriers along the routes, track surfaces with particular characteristics, a series of checks entrusted to a technical body. All provisions that could cause the cancellation of highly anticipated and important events.
