Everything is ready for the event entitled " Towards Fertilia " scheduled for Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 November in the village on the outskirts of Alghero . An initiative promoted by the Egea association – A Light on Memory, in collaboration with the Neighborhood Committee, the Natural Shopping Center, the San Marco Celebrations Committee and the E.GI.S. Two days of debates on traditions and cultures, moments of entertainment and music.

The details were illustrated during a press conference organized in front of the old cinema-theatre, one of the symbols of the township. Among the guests, in addition to the representatives of the Municipality of Alghero and the Alghero Foundation, there will be the three presidents of the regional councils of Sardinia, Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia, Michele Pais, Roberto Ciambetti and Mauro Piero Zanin , the mayor of Gorizia Rodolfo Ziberna .

It begins on November 19 with the laying of a wreath in the park that the municipal administration of Alghero recently wanted to name after Norma Cossetto. Then at 11.30, in the conference room set up in via Pola in Fertilia, there will be the presentation of the book "The Child with the Suitcase" in the presence of the authors Egea Haffner and Gigliola Alvisi, and the students of some of the city's schools. In the afternoon, starting at 15.45, there will be a presentation meeting of the Presidio della Cultura Giuliana – Ferrarese-Venerta, called “Fertiliae – Domus Omnium” recently set up in the village, in the presence of representatives of the institutions of the regions from which they came to Fertilia the exiles of Istria, Fiume and Dalmatia, the Ferrarese and Venetian settlers and many other families from different areas of Italy and the Mediterranean. Starting at 17 it will be the turn of Go20/25, (Gorizia and Nova Gorica European Capital of Culture 2025). This is an important opportunity to address the theme of overcoming divisions starting from the experience of Gorizia and Nova Gorica, through the direct account of Rodolfo Ziberna, mayor of Gorizia.

Traditions and cultures protagonists with "La Viecia Batana", emblem of the link with the sea and the traditions of a people, a topic that will be addressed starting from the experience of the Ecomuseum of the Batana in Rovinj (inscribed in the UNESCO Registers), through the story of Nives Giuricin, director of the Ecomuseum and David Modrusan, deputy mayor of Rovigno (Istria, Croatia). Then the lost languages (the Istriot dialect, Rovinj and other endangered languages) which will be introduced thanks to Paolo Demarin, president of the Italian Community of Sissano (Istria). Lastly, space for food as a safeguard of identity. The experience of the Proloco of Arborea will be illustrated, thanks to the presence of the president Paolo Sanneris, with Luca Saba, director of Coldiretti Sardinia, Paolo Govoni, president of the Chamber of Commerce of Ferrara and Pietro Esposito, director of the Chamber of Commerce of Sassari. At the end of the event, the "Fertilia - City of inclusion" prize will be awarded with awards to those who have distinguished themselves for their adherence to the values of inclusion and resilience and for maintaining the culture and identity of a community or for having worked to enhance Fertilia and her community. The event will end with the screening of a film that traces the history of Fertilia, made by Roberto Barbieri in collaboration with the Società Umanitaria – Cineteca Sarda and with the E.GI.S. of Fertilia, in which period images and testimonies of some inhabitants of Fertilia appear, coming from various cultural traditions.

Sunday 20 November instead, starting at 16.45 the story of the SS Fertilia, "A Team, a Family, a Community". All those who have played, who have been managers or simply enthusiasts and supporters of a team that has stood out for its brilliant sporting results but also for its respect for the values of sportsmanship and loyalty are invited to the meeting. At the end of the screening and the debate with the protagonists of the various eras, there will be an evening of music with the "Los Amics della Muraglia".
