"The tractor? Ah, yes, I found it at the company this morning. I don't know where it comes from." It was not a convincing response given by AR, a 53-year-old breeder originally from Pattada, to the police who were carrying out an inspection on his cattle breeding company in Ozieri. And his day ended yesterday with a complaint for receiving stolen goods.

Arriving in the square, the soldiers immediately noticed the Same machine equipped with a bucket, with which the man was shoveling manure . The fifty-three-year-old, upon seeing them, abandoned the vehicle and approached on foot. A circumstance that made the police suspicious, given that it would have been easier to move with the tractor.

So the military decided to look into the matter further. It immediately emerged that the large vehicle had no license plate and registration documents.

Faced with questions, the breeder was unable to provide justification for the possession. "Indeed, despite having been caught on board while he was working", the force says, "he justified himself by claiming to have found it - abandoned inside the company - precisely during that same morning". If that had happened, he would have had to file a complaint. So a quick consultation of the database was enough to discover that that tractor, worth around 25 thousand euros, had been stolen last October 25th in Lula, from a fenced municipal area and that the Municipality of Lula, which was its owner, had reported the theft.
