Green light to the "Save a friend" project for the adoption of dogs hosted at the kennel that has an agreement with the Municipality of Sorso . The initiative, put in place by the administration, aims to raise awareness and encourage the custody of stray dogs captured in the municipal area , to guarantee their well-being, counter the phenomenon of stray dogs and save costs deriving from their maintenance.

Each dog is provided with vaccinations and microchips and adopters will be provided with financial aid equal to 500 euros for the first two years, to take care of their new best friend.

To proceed with the adoption it is necessary to submit an application to the Maintenance Office. The definitive adoption takes place directly in the affiliated structure which deals with the procedures for the transfer of ownership of the animal entrusted by the Municipality to the adopter and the relative communication to the competent Asl Sassari as well as the registration in the Canina registry.

"Adoption is a choice of great value, which allows you to give a new life to a needy animal and to contribute to the fight against stray dogs in the area", underlines the councilor for environmental supervision and stray dogs, Andrea Mangatia, "we are certain that the initiative will be successful and that many dogs will be able to find a loving family and that many of our fellow citizens will be able to find a faithful friend.

The adoption will in any case be preceded by an assessment by the kennels regarding the suitability of the chosen dog for foster care.
