“An escape of this kind is carefully prepared. You don't flee alone, it seems clear to me . Whether fellow inmates or others helped him will occur. It remains a disturbing episode, especially in that type of prison. It cannot leave you indifferent, due to the seriousness of what happened and the dangerousness of the escaped subject".

This was stated by the Deputy Minister of Justice Francesco Paolo Sisto in an interview with TeleNorba, regarding the escape from the high-security department of the Nuoro prison of Badu 'e Carros of the Apulian prisoner Marco Raduano , boss of the Gargano mafia who was serving his sentence in 19 years' imprisonment.

"The ministry immediately ordered an administrative inspection, through the supervisor of Sardinia, an inspection which is underway and which will give the first results in the next few hours," added Sisto.

«All the staff of the institute were interviewed, the places were inspected. As soon as we have the first answers from the Superintendent, we will draw the conclusions and the first measures will also be taken".

According to Sisto, the hypotheses that allowed the escape can be various. «Shortness of resources and, therefore, of personnel with respect to the control system, a lack of control and, therefore, a negligent attitude of those who had to control, ultimately situations not exactly of unawareness with respect to the episode. Obviously we cannot overlook - he concluded - the hypothesis that there have been adhesions with respect to this daring and disturbing escape".

Meanwhile, in Nuoro, the prefect has convened the Committee for public order and safety, which will meet in the next few hours.
