The Customs and Monopolies Agency has revoked the €20,000 fine against the owner of a business in Sassari . This decision follows a case that arose in 2017 when the woman was fined for having equipment capable of connecting to online platforms in her business.

A violation of Article 7 of the Balduzzi Decree, dating back to 2012, which established a series of preventive measures to combat gambling addiction. In 2019, the firm imposed a hefty fine of €20,000, as stated, in addition to the seizure of the "incriminating" machine . However, the entrepreneur decided to appeal, assisted by lawyer Maria Teresa Parrelli, with the case ending up before the Court of Appeal of Cagliari. Subsequently, the Constitutional Court intervened, ruling that the ban ratified by the Balduzzi Decree was unlawful, as was the article of Law 208/2015 establishing the administrative penalty for such cases. At that point, with the underlying basis of the entire situation no longer valid, the Customs and Monopolies Agency annulled the injunction and confiscation order against the shop owner.

Therefore, in addition to the revocation of the fine, the device and all the sums contained within were also released from seizure.
