Twenty-two young Palestinians returned to life: 10 treated with open heart surgery and 12 saved with other types of surgery.
This is the beautiful balance of the "Mission of the heart", with PCRF - Palestine Children's Relief Fund, carried out at the European Gaza Hospital in Gaza by a team of specialists which included Roberto Tumbarello of the Brotzu of Cagliari, for Cardiology, flanked by intensive care nurses of the same hospital, Francesco Anedda and Corrado Viola.
Also with them were the pediatric heart surgeon Vincenzo "Stefano" Luisi and Francesco Santoro of the Gaslini Hospital in Genoa.
With them Elena Ribera and Alessia Franceschi (heart surgeon and anesthetist at Gaslini), Vittoria De Lucia (former cardiologist at the Federico II University of Naples), Federica Raffin, perfusionist from Padua, Pierantonio Furfori and Giada Boggi (anaesthesiologist and intensive care nurse at the Heart of Massa) and Fabio Panetta (anaesthesiologist of the Aou Meyer in Florence).
To these are added the local professionals, who have always participated since the preparatory stages.
