According to prosecutor Marco Cocco, the messages from Igor Sollai to his lover contain the motive for the femicide of Francesca Deidda , the 42-year-old from San Sperate killed on May 10 with several hammer blows to the head and found months later locked in a duffel bag in the woods between Sinnai and San Vito, along the former Orientale Sarda.

It's January 3, 2024, and the truck driver who confessed to the murder says in an audio to his young lover: " She has understood that I have another steady and despite everything she won't leave me . You know that your husband has another, it's obvious, he changed his habits from one day to the next and yet you see that she doesn't make the first move... So from what I understand I have to move in a certain way ."

On January 30, Sollai contacts a relative to ask if he can buy him some cyanide , while on May 2, chatting with his lover, he says that "it could close within the month." Perhaps he was referring to the separation, investigators hypothesize.

Two days before the crime, he reassures his lover: "We can organize a weekend together." And, again on May 8, he searches on Google for "how to make a body disappear" and "the fastest method to make a body disappear." And again, other searches on how to get away with it after the crime and how to impersonate your wife to get her fired from her job online .

Francesca was killed at 9pm on May 10th , at 10.32pm Sollai would have come out with her body in his bag. At 11.45pm a 4 minute phone call with his lover. Before that he would have written to her: «I left her». But he had killed her .
