A paradise that turns into a garbage dump. This is the bitter reality of Sant'Isidoro, the country village on the outskirts of Quartucciu that, instead of offering clean air and uncontaminated landscapes, is suffocated by waste. Everywhere you turn your gaze, among the grass and plants, garbage bags, old appliances, scraps of all kinds appear. An open-air landfill that grows every day.
The residents have been exasperated for years now. The complaints follow one another, the photos circulate on social media and in chats and the sense of impotence increases . "Every day someone arrives, unloads their garbage and leaves, without shame, without fear", say the residents, tired of seeing their land reduced like this. Those who chose the countryside to live in peace find themselves instead fighting with degradation and incivility.
But here no one intends to give up. For some time now, there have been requests for the installation of photo traps and the arrival of the Barracellare company, to control and punish those who treat Sant'Isidoro like a garbage dump. "Enough with the indifference. This land deserves respect", shout its inhabitants ready to defend it.
