Fear in Nuoro, a house half destroyed by flames: the owner had left a lit cigarette behind.

A house was partially destroyed by flames last night in Nuoro, caused by the careless abandonment of a still-lit cigarette .

The incident occurred in via Kandinskij , where two teams of firefighters from the provincial command intervened at around 9.20pm.

The flames initially engulfed some paper that was on the veranda of the house, gaining strength and spreading inside the rooms, where the furnishings and furniture in the kitchen-living room area were destroyed .

The timely intervention allowed the fire to be put out, preventing it from spreading to the remaining rooms of the apartment and to nearby houses.

Fortunately, the owner was not at home when the fire started . Therefore, no one was injured or poisoned.

Once the flames were extinguished, the firefighters began the long and delicate cleanup and safety operations of the area to verify the structure's integrity and eliminate any remaining sources of ignition.

It was later determined that the fire started from a carelessly lit cigarette and spread rapidly after attacking some paper material on the porch of the house.
