A series of fights between young people that broke out during the night in Cagliari put the 118 emergency personnel on standby to help the injured, fortunately none of whom were seriously injured.

The most significant incident involved a twenty-five-year-old man who was attacked and beaten with an iron pipe in front of a sandwich shop on Viale Elmas . An ambulance arrived on the scene, treated the young man, and transported him to the emergency room with a yellow code.

Two more fights then took place in front of two other establishments in the Via Newton area, on the edge of Viale Marconi, and on Via Contivecchi, also in Cagliari , between 1 and 4 a.m. Again, only grazes and bruises were reported, but nothing serious.

According to initial rumours, these were independent episodes, unconnected to each other, which only had the abuse of alcohol and other substances in common.

Law enforcement is investigating the most significant incident, that of the boy being attacked and beaten with an iron pipe.
