Quartu, tragic accident last night: man hit and killed by a car while crossing at the crosswalk
Nothing could be done for the victim, an elderly resident of Cagliari. The driver of the car was a 28-year-old woman from the capital.

Tragic fatal accident during the night in Quartu Sant'Elena .
Around 11.30pm , a man, resident in the Cagliari area, was hit by a car while crossing the pedestrian crossing on Via Salieri , at the intersection with Via Strauss.
The 118 emergency medical personnel responded immediately and took him to the Brotzu hospital in Cagliari, where he died shortly after arrival due to his serious injuries.
The victim, 80, is a citizen of Iranian origin. The driver of the car was a 28-year-old woman from Cagliari, who had been charged with vehicular homicide. The woman's license and registration documents were found to be in order.
The Carabinieri are proceeding with further investigations.
