Following the attack a few weeks ago on the tobacconist's in Piazza Azuni, businesses in Quartu are once again in the sights of thugs.

This time, the victim is the brand-new Diametro 30 pizzeria on Via Cagliari, at the corner of Via Messina, which opened just a month ago. Last night, thieves smashed the window and forced a shutter before breaking into the premises and stealing the cash drawer and a few coins, causing thousands of euros in damage to the building.

"We doubt this action is the result of desperation to pay for medical care or food for their children or animals," the owners said, "and we also doubt whoever did this is stricken by guilt. But we hope they will at least return the drawer with the documents and statistics inside, and we ask anyone who might find it somewhere to bring it back to us. We will now file a complaint with the Carabinieri, hoping they can find those responsible."
